A great night in with the family should always include a fun family movie. There’s an assortment of titles to choose from, with a movie to suit the tastes of each and every individual, of every age. This can make it difficult to choose the right movie for your family night flick.

Rather than spend an endless amount of time debating which movie to watch, take a look at my top-recommended family movies that are all sure to make your time together phenomenal.

1. Brave

Brave is a 2012 movie recommended for children 8 years of age and older. In this movie, Princess Merida faces the ultimate test of bravery as she attempts to follow her dreams and make them a reality.

This is the perfect movie for girls and boys who want a heartwarming tale of hope and happiness. This PG movie has a running time of 93 minutes.

2. The LEGO Movie

Released in 2014, “The LEGO Movie” is a top choice for boys and girls. In this 100-minute movie you will follow the adventures of Emmitt after he is identified to be the smartest man in the world.

You’ll laugh, you’ll smile and you’ll definitely have many favorite movie moments. This move has a 96% critic approval rating.

3. Cars – The Movie

Disney Pixar released “Cars” back in 2006, with a second film released in 2008. Although the movie is a bit old, it is still one of the best animated films of all times.

Lightening McQueen and his pal Mater are laugh-out-loud hysterical and there is no doubt that you will love the adventures and the trouble the pair get into in Radiator City.

4. Frozen

Another Disney title, “Frozen” was the hit movie of 2013. Chances are your child has already watched it 100 times or more, but watching it one more time sure won’t hurt a thing.

The movie has a running time of 102 minutes and follows the tale of Elsa and Anna, two sisters who cannot come together because of one’s ability to freeze people.

5. The Land Before Time

The Land Before Time was originally released in 1988 and has since become a family favorite for children of all ages.

This movie follows the tale of baby dinosaurs that are so adorable and lovable and find themselves in a variety of situations in the Great Valley. This is a movie that has been re-released, so definitely check it out and watch it with your family.
